Converting Technology Engraving (CTE)

CTE is the result of a joint venture between Converting Technology, INC. (CTI) and The Lasercomb Group UK. CTI and Lasercomb are recognized leaders in the manufacture of tooling for flatbed cutting presses and have maintained a strong working relationship for 25+ years. In 2014 CTE began manufacturing engraving tools. CTE is housed in CTI’s Elk Grove Village, IL facility. The wealth of knowledge shared in the partnership between CTI and Lasercomb gave CTE the foundation to become leaders in the engraving industry.

Positions Available at CTI

As a Production Programmer, you will evaluate the job ticket, customer’s project specs & SOP, and CAD software to produce accurate, quality tooling building on CTI’s industry leading reputation.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and perform computer programing of the following tooling based on customer requirements.
    • Steel Rule Cutting Dies
    • Counters (Steel and Phenolic)
    • Stripping Sets
    • Re-orders, Spare Rule, Spare Rubber & One-off items such as name plates.
  • Follow and Maintain Customer SOP for programing customer specific tooling.
  • Be proficient on production programming, plotter operations and department procedures as required.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and safe
  • Review programs and finished assemblies on production floor. Assist other departments as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 – 3 years CAD software is preferred
  • Printing industry knowledge is also a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effectively communicate directly with customers in a timely and professional manner
  • Mac & PC Proficient

Positions Available at CTE

The CNC Machinist position requires mechanical aptitude, good attendance, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to change priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to plug into many roles as CTE is a growing engraver in Elk Grove Village, IL.  You will operate CNC-controlled machine shop equipment, predominately milling brass and high-performance plastic.  The position also will use a hot press, drills, and sanding equipment to finish components for our customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete set-ups including loading and setting all tooling, loading programs, running parts complete with high tolerances, inspecting parts as running to ensure all dimensions are within tolerances.
  • Complete fast, efficient, and effective set-ups for orders and quickly change to the next project in the discussed schedule.
  • Review films, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations, and/or set up requirements.
  • Select, align, and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust the machine controls as necessary.
  • Adhere to company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 5+ years machining experience preferred but not essential.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections.
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment.
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated and maintain attention to detail.

The Customer Service Representative is the liaison with both our Converting Technology Engraving, Inc. customers and Converting Technology (CTI). Must be results oriented, outgoing, positive, professional and seek a good customer service experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Primary contact for all customer questions and concerns
  • Order Entry
  • Transfer all information into company software
  • Quoting for customer jobs
  • Billing/Accounting
  • Scheduling orders
  • Sales support

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma required; college courses/grad preferred
  • 1+ years customer service experience preferred
  • 1+ years CAD experience preferred
  • Results oriented, outgoing, positive, team player
  • High organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to read, write and speak English; effectively communicate with team members in a timely and professional manner.
