During our last CTE board meeting our colleagues in England asked me when I thought the U.S. would be back to normal. I had been optimistic earlier this year that if we followed the recommended guidelines by late summer a more normal life would return. Now I’m not sure if we can hope to envision a life without masks and social distancing until sometime in 2021. What makes it difficult in our country is that our 50 states can govern like 50 different countries. Varying state rules and restrictions mean that a virus can and does move freely around our country. There are no borders between states and all that really can be done is suggest a 14-day quarantine to travelers arriving from infectious states.

So in lieu of a federal stay at home order and a complete shutdown of our economy it’s up to each one of us to make sure we are being responsible.

I am very proud of our industry and our ability to continue manufacturing while ensuring that all precautions are taken in our plants. The no visitor rule imposed by most companies has helped control the spread of the virus. As a result of everyone’s compliance we have been able to continue the supply of packaging with minimal disruption.

I am fortunate to work in an essential industry and thank all of our customers for their business. Everyone here at CTI has followed all guidelines and hardly anyone has complained about mask wearing – except me! The one comment I’ve heard from numerous employees is that everyone is happy to be working and able to contribute to the needs of America.

We will continue to support all of our customers with press modifications and specific training when asked. I also would welcome the invitation to participate in Skype or Zoom calls so that we can continue our dialogue. Please contact me directly and I’ll arrange to have appropriate personnel available.

Our new website will be up and running in the near future. It will feature a better description of our product line and services with a direct link to our CTE website. The customer login feature will not change. We will email a notice when the site is available.

Enjoy the summer and hopefully we’ll have better health news by the fall!

Sincerely
John Norgard
